IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

As our separate women’s and men’s clubs have now unified, a BIG issue is the Women’s and Men’s Web Pages. Unfortunately we can’t wave a magic ‘mouse’ (sic) and merge the two sites into one.

The use of the Women’s web site has been one that was interactive for the women bowlers.

The Men on the other hand saw their web site as a window to the outside world promoting the Bateau Bay Club.

Hence, as we move forward as a unified club, the ultimate solution requires some further discussions on what is the best way to proceed.

The Women’s and Men’s web pages will become static until the new committee can properly address this important media area.  Therefore, there will be no further posts on this website.

You are requested to use the TEAMAPP for all information (such as draws etc.) in the mean time until a resolution that is in the best interests of the Club is achieved.

If you need assistance gaining access to Team App, please see any of the current Committee who will be pleased to help.

KIDS IN NEED - OUR 2022-23 CHARITY RECIPIENT

This week we had the pleasure of presenting Rhonda Doyle from "Central Coast Kids in Need" with a cheque for $3,000 to assist them with the wonderful work they do.

29 years ago in 1993 a local Central Coast mum with a sick son started a volunteer fundraising group on the Central Coast to help other parents with the financial strain that a seriously ill child has on the family, and Central Coast Kids in Need was born.

Families on the Central Coast who find themselves travelling to the Children's Hospitals at Newcastle, Randwick and Westmead are ineligible for any Government support as they live too close to these services, whereas other families living over 100kms from the treating hospital do receive a small amount of assistance.

This is where Central Coast Kids in Need aims to help - they reimburse the costs associated with accommodation, travel, specialised medical equipment to improve quality of life and more recently, assistance with high cost prescriptions and specialised formulas for babies.

Over the past 17 years they have provided over $4.4 million to 3,573 Central Coast families to assist them as they battle through their daily lives caring for their child.  Currently in this financial year Central Coast Kids in Need are assisting 326 kids and have outlayed $319,438.40, so our donation will go a long way to help out families in our area.

So thank you again to all our avid readers and those that love Anne's jars of pickles - your purchases from our trading trolley have been put to good use, and next time you do a wrong bias, don't cringe and think "walk of shame" to the money tin - think what a great thing you did in helping a wonderful local charity.

President Karen and Rhonda Doyle
from Central Coast Kids in Need

TRIPLES @ THE BAY 2022

Our 2022 Triples  the Bay Carnival was a great success with 26 teams filling the 2 available greens playing 3 games of 2 bowl triples.

Players from Breakers Wamberal, Canton Beach, Ettalong, Everglades, Gosford City, Hali, Munmorah, Ourimbah, The Entrance, Wyong and Bateau enjoyed a day of bowls under grey skies that threatened rain but thankfully did not deliver.

Following the first two games, lunch was enjoyed in the Main Lounge followed by delicious homemade slices prepared by members of our Social team plus other clever bakers within our Club.

Many thanks to Creighton's for their continued sponsorship of this event and a huge thank you to Dean Wilson for his work on the computer and doubling up as Umpire for the day - we have never seen an Umpire work harder (and no, they weren't all jack measures 😊!!)

DIVISION 3 WIN REGIONAL PENNANT PLAYOFFS

Congratulations to our Div 3 Red Pennant side, who today defeated Edgeworth in the Regional Pennant playoffs and now proceed to the State Playoffs in Bomaderry from November 18.

It was a good day for Wyong clubs with Avoca also winning Division 2, they now go to the State playoffs at Taren Point.

LAKES TROPHY RESULT

The Lakes Trophy was played today with Central Coast District playing Lake Macquarie District at Halekulani.

While Central Coast went down 99-138, our girls, Mary Farrugia, Maria Wallis and Sarah McKay, were playing on one of only 2 Central Coast rinks to win, 21-14.

Well done girls and congratulations on a great effort in your first rep game for District!!!!

DIV 3 REDS WIN THE FLAG!!!

Congratulations to our Division 3 Red side who today won the District Division 3 flag.

Our ladies played Terrigal this morning and despite suffering their first loss of the playoffs (25-44, 0-5 loss), their 3 magnificent wins on Monday and Tuesday, combined with the result between Umina and Gwandalan today were enough to secure the flag.

Congratulations Jennifer Robertson, Christine Butcher, Marion Lindsay and Lynn Farah (S) & Sam Marks, Corie Shields, Jill Cleary and Eileen Fitzgerald (S).  Manager Pauline Williams.

The ladies now proceed to the Regional Playoffs on Sunday September 25 at Redhead Bowling Club where they will play Edgeworth who won the Division 3 flag in Lake Macquarie District.

An event such as the play-offs does not run itself.  It takes a lot of planning and assistance from volunteers from both the Men's and Women's Clubs and we would like to thank all those that helped out over the three days with the BBQ, cake stall, marshalling, general setup - you did an amazing job and once again Bateau Bay is the talk of the District!!

We would like to also thank the Men's Club and their members for their understanding with regards to Social Bowls being cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday.  It was great to see so many of you at the Club anyway cheering our girls on 😀.

FINAL PENNANT RESULTS (with link to full results)

The final Pennant results have now been decided with washed out and incomplete games now played.

We now focus on the Post-Sectional Pennant playoffs, which we are hosting next week from Sep 5 - 7.

Division 3 play the first two days of their round robin competition on Monday and Tuesday, with all grades then competing on the Wednesday.

Click here to access the post sectional draw for all Divisions.

Our Division 3 Red side will be competing all day Monday, in the morning Tuesday and again in the morning on Wednesday and all Stingray supporters are invited to come to the Club and cheer the girls on.
