Congratulations Gloria Schofield, Elsie Yardley, Jill Streher and Helga Russell, our 2022-23 Club Fours Champions defeating Noelene Moyle, Julie Larkin, June Shipley and Jenny Robertson 32 - 11 in todays final.
Both teams had played wonderful bowls to reach the final, and that standard continued today.
In a tight start to the game, shots were hard to come by and Gloria's team held an 8 shot lead at the halfway mark 12 - 4. Team Moyle managed to claw that deficit back to 12 - 8 but then the experience of team Schofield kicked in and they drew away to victory.
Congratulations to all players - Gloria, Elsie and Jill are all "old" hands at this format of the game and are always formidable opponents but today was Helga Russell's first Championship win (and definitely not her last!!).
And to the Runners-Up, congratulations on reaching the final after some amazing matches throughout this Championship. All of these ladies appeared in our recent 2022-23 Club Triples Final and are having a wonderful season.
