Congratulations Helga Russell and Jennifer Bessant, our 2022-23 Minor Pairs winners, defeating Julie Larkin and Noelene Moyle 19 - 17 in a very tight final.
Helga, Julie and Noelene are becoming "finals" regulars this Championship year, however, this was Jenny's first appearance in a final but you would never have guessed it with the composure shown throughout this competition.
As was expected the game was tight throughout and at ends 11 and 15 the scores were level with shots very hard to come by. Julie and Noelene got 1 shot ahead on end 16 but Helga and Jenny were able to counter and took the lead back.
Congratulations to all players involved today and all those that competed in this competition, it's fantastic to see your bowling going from strength to strength (all I can say is that the Major Singles and Pairs championships next year are going to be very scary 😨).
And special thanks to Christine Butcher and Noelene Barkas from our Match Committee - it's been a busy couple of months for these ladies as Consistency and Minor Pairs had to be run on a Tuesday to fit all our events into our calendar, and these ladies bore the brunt of the Match workload for these 2 events.
